Is Acid ReduxTM a proton pump inhibitor and how does it affect the production of gastrin?
 
Acid Redux is NOT a proton pump inhibitor, it does not influence the (hormonal control) gastrin production.

Is Acid Redux safer than other materials that contain proton pump inhibitors, which have been reported to increase gastrin and possible risks to cancer?
We cannot provide any data on proton pump inhibitors and their links to cancer. There is data available that refers to endocrine secretions, specifically gastrin that suggests there is increased gastrin production influenced by proton pumps. Acid Redux is a safe, extremely fast acting and effective supplement that does not increase gastrin production.

What other benefits does Acid Redux provide in addition to treating GERD or acid reflux?
There is emerging science concerning the alkaline condition of the body and possible benefits. If the lower esophageal sphincter is relaxed incorrectly it allows food and acid to enter the esophagus before this muscle closes. Acid Redux tablets are formulated to, not only reduce stomach acid, but also to pass through the stomach and dissolve in the upper intestine. Once there, they can reduce the acidity of all the body's electrolytes (first the blood, then the urine and other fluids). There are several diseases that are either caused by or exacerbated by too low a body pH, which occurs as we age. These diseases include:

- Gout - uric acid forming crystals in the joints of the lower extremities causes pain
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome - caused by fermenting (acidic) food in the bowel
- Diverticulitis
- Fibromyalgia - muscle soreness is caused by lactic acid build up in the muscles
- Interstitial Cystitis - this disease causes the lining of the bladder to disintegrate. Acidic urine passing through the bladder causes excruciating pain when it contacts the raw bladder walls.
- Osteoporosis - it is theorized by some researchers that bodies constantly seek to balance their pH. In order to balance it, acidic bodies leach alkaline Calcium from their bones, thereby decreasing bone mass. As we age our bodies naturally become less efficient, more acidic.
- Periodontal Disease - it is suspected that the organisms that cause this disease thrive in an acidic environment in the mouth and are eradicated when the pH in the mouth is increased.
- Urination pain from Radiation or Chemotherapy.
- Vulvadynia or Vulvar Pain

What are some activities that cause high body acidity?
The pH of the body is influenced by metabolic sub-products and our diet. Thus, pH is directly affected by the various categories of food that we eat and the internal mechanisms involved in their processing. Some foods that are acidic in their composition can become alkalinizing following metabolization, e.g. lemons. We are becoming more consciously aware of the impact that various food groups and our eating habits have on the internal environment of the body.
Also, as we age, our bodies naturally become more acidic.
